Current Obsession | Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Hey everyone! It’s another Grab Bag Tuesday post on a Wednesday. If it helps, I was busy yesterday looking at apartments! I know what you may be thinking, I’m always talking about a current obsession, that how can this many products be considered “obsessions” if I just get over them for a newer product. But honestly, these are what I’m loving in the current moment and life is ever-changing, but for now, I can’t think of any bad things about these products. They just all work so well!

For a really long time, I have struggled with eyeshadows; they just never stuck to my lids, they were never as pigmented as the packaging suggest, they never looked like the models or beauty bloggers, they just never worked for me. For the most part, I thought it was just because I purchased relatively cheap eyeshadow, but then I took the plunge and bought a Too Faced palette (reviews on this amazing palette will definitely come soon). Surely this over $20 palette would work great, and at first, it was just like every other eyeshadow and didn’t work with my eye lids at all. That’s when I realized it wasn’t the eyeshadows I was buying, but rather my eyelids not absorbing the powder (ok ok I’m not really sure on the specifics, but it was definitely a problem with my eyelids). I’ve been hearing so much about Urban Decay’s Primer Potion, so I thought maybe it’ll give my eyelids that extra something to make them compatible with eyeshadow like everyone else. So let’s get into this…

Urban decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion | Anti-Aging

Why I’m Obsessed

There’s a reason for all the hype; this product is amazing! When I apply eyeshadow, now it actually acts like eyeshadow should. Eyeshadows now look as pigmented as in the box and stay on my face, no random extra powder.

It’s long-lasting. If you’ve been here awhile, you know how lazy I am when it comes to removing my makeup. I’m not sure if I should admit this, but I honestly went out and ran errands with last night’s makeup and my eyeshadow looked just as good as the day before. This is great for those lazy days (aka everyday).

The applicator is amazing. I really hope it’s the same in the normal size, since I just got the travel size to test it out. The applicator is the same as a lip gloss, which makes it easy for the small area of skin of eyelids.

It sinks into your skin quickly. I don’t even need to blend it into my skin. I just swipe it over my eyelids and I’m good to continue with my makeup routine. Very little effort required, really.

So like with the setting spray, I didn’t read that there were different kinds of Primer Potion. Getting the Anti-Aging one was really just an accident, so I really can’t comment on how the other varieties work. I luckily haven’t seen much aging around my eyes yet in my life, so I’m not sure how well I can review on that quality. However, I do notice a firming feeling (ok, I admit, wording probably not the greatest) after I apply, and it does make my eyes appear more awake with use. If that helps at all…

Use

As mentioned, it’s extremely easy to use. Just swipe it over your eyelids when you are priming the rest of your face and you are good to start applying your eyeshadow.

Even though it is a bit expensive (I paid $15 for a small 5ml tube), I 100% recommend this product. A little really does go a long way, so the price you pay in the long run isn’t too bad, especially for a product that works miracles like this one. Once again, Urban Decay really hit this one out of the park.
