For quite awhile I have had an obsession with cream eyeliners, even before I switched to cruelty free options. I loved how it was more controllable than wet liner and you never have to worry about sharpening eyeliner pencils (which I found very annoying, getting bits of pencil shavings everywhere and worrying about broken pencils). With cream eyeliners, you could have it all.
When I made the switch to cruelty free, I knew I had to get my hands on a new cream liner. I went to my local drug store (CVS in this case), and found out that a very inexpensive brand (NYX) carried cream liner. I was extremely delighted to find out it worked great! It went on smooth, no clumps, and was very dark. The only downside was that it didn’t come with a brush. Luckily, previous brand I have used came with brushes so I just used one of them. I suggest if you go for this product to get a small eyeliner brush or even an eyebrow brush would work well. When you slide your brush into the pot, make sure not to get too much in order to prevent clumping. (I usually scrape a bit on the side of the pot to make sure I only get a small amount). Use quick, short strokes to get a desired look. This also works great for your water line and lasts much longer than pencil eyeliners I have tried in the past.
Pro tips: Put your eyeliner in the freezer for approximately 15 minutes before use to further prevent clumping. I don’t know the science behin d it, but it works perfectly!
